Therefore, the students need to know on how to operate the advanced technology and how to overcome the sudden technological crisis. Thirdly, an individual financial executive has to keep a constant balance on the overall database of companys revenue growth, their employee remuneration, investment and budgets. In this kind of situation, that particular finance executive has to be very much efficient who can keep a constant control over the entire phase of business. Fourthly, the communication skill of an individual finance has to be strong. However, in order to get a good prospect in this specific job profile the student of a business administration should have those qualities and efficiencies in order to become an efficient finance executive. On the other hand, the job prospect for this specific post is really high that can excel the future if an individual student effectively. Self-analysis: After observing the online presence on various job portals I have found that this particular profile is having a huge market craze. Large number of recognizable business organizations belonging to different industries is searching for an efficient, reliable and skillful finance executives (Hamel and Prahalad 2013). At the same time, the organizations are ready to pay a sound remuneration package to the new applicants. Therefore, it is undeniable that at the current business industry the demand of an eminent finance executive is high. The applicants like me are having immense scope to settle their career in different industry due to their profile flexibility. A business organization would never be able to run their entire business process without having the presence of finance executives (Gilbert 2014). Future employers while establishing their business in the market immediately need an effective human resource team, finance team and operation team in order to start their business in the market. As per the current profile, I being a student of business administration am having an excellent academic record throughout my overall career. At the same time, I have completed a specialization on finance. Therefore, I have the capability to control the entire business process as well as revenue structure for my organization. Future employers while starting up their business process would like to hire those employees in the finance department who are having competency and skill in this particular sector. From that perspective, my profile is having a high match for the future employers (Lazonick 2014). Not a single company would be successful to establish their business without the post of a financial executive. As a result, employees would get better opportunity to flourish their career. The role of a finance executive is very much specific. They fail to handle any other department at the time of organizational crisis The finance executives should have excellent academic background. Otherwise, the organizations show their reluctance in hiring an individual within the process. In a word, the students have to face innumerable challenges in order to get a chance in this specific profile. Opportunities Threats The employees are having immense opportunities to flourish their career in a widespread way Finance executives are having the scope of becoming finance manager and then chief manager. The better job profile for a student of graduation is a major threat to build a career as finance executives. It has been observed that large number of students after completing their MBA in finance tends to apply for the posts. As a result, those candidates get first priority for the companies. Students of graduation sometimes fail to maintain a balance with the advanced technological devices. This may become a major threat for an individual after joining in the company. Table 1: SWOT analysis (Source: Sharma, Chrisman and Gersick 2012) Social networking profile: In order to excel the overall career growth and future I have used the platforms of online job portals that will help me to provide an in-depth analysis about the future growth of my career. The primary responsibility of those specific online portals is to provide preferable job opportunity to the students with the help of which they can establish their own career (Jo?o and Coetzee 2012). For individual students, it is very much difficult to search for a preferable job without having a clue. Therefore, this specific online job portal helps an individual to identify their better scopes and opportunities and to select their preferable profile (Krantzler 2014). The students have to mention the academic qualification, experience, background along with attaching the preferable job prospects. The online job portals help to provide the job opportunities as per the specification that individual. However, for evaluating my personal career the two social networking profiles that I have selected for getting a better job opportunity include www.seek.com.au and www.careerone.com.au. Careerone is the social networking site that not only offers the job opportunities to the individuals but also gives numerous career advices that can be helpful for enhancing the future growth of an individual (Doherty 2013). This kind of career advice is very much helpful for an individual with the help of which they can get a clue about the future prospect of their job profile. On the other hand, www.see,k.com.au is another job portal site that is very much active and responsible towards site viewers. This particular site always tries to give an immediate response to the job seekers. As a result, the page viewers can get immediate response from the service providers to select their career as well as take a proper decision for their future growth (Okurame 2012). On the other hand, both the two sites are very much effective in offering the job opportunities as per the specialization of the students. Therefore, the students get the scope to have suitable and appropriate job profile for them. Conclusion: The entire study has focused to provide an in-depth analysis regarding the importance of choosing a suitable job for the future career prospect. Based on the choosing of career an individual student tends to establish career. In this specific part, the job profile that has been given most priority is the role of a financial executive. In order to become an effective financial executive an individual should an academic background of management having a specialization in finance. In addition, this particular post is very much significant for every business organization. Students would not have to wait for a specific industry. The craze of an efficient finance executive is high in the market. Therefore, this particular job profile would be appropriate for flourishing the entire career of an individual. Silence of the lambs essays

Silence of the lambs essays How do the features of narrative and genre create meaning and generate response within the audience? The film starts with a high angle establishing shot of a forest setting, with the diegetic sounds of stereotypical forest or mountain area sound effects such as the chirps of insects and the distant calls of an eagle. The camera then tilts downwards to show the lead protagonist jogging towards us, Agent Clarice Starling (Foster.) As she draws near her footsteps become clearer which are heavily treading through the leaves and branches. The non-diegetic music has classical elements and is similar to the characters movements, which keeps building up and down and remains somewhat tense throughout the first few minutes. The camera then switches to a mid-tracking shot and follows her from behind. This jog could represent the characters journey that is about to begin, as she ducks and dives through trees and pushes on. She is wearing casual exercise clothing, which tells us little about the character other than she likes, or has to keep fit. As the scene progresses there is a side tra cking shot close up on her face displaying sweat and determination and indicating to the audience that she is quite tired. The camera then switches to a similar shot but of her feet running along the forest path. She is soon interrupted by a mans voice which she stops and confronts, we then discover that she is in fact linked to the FBI and has been called to her seniors. Having been sent to an office of some description, the next part of the scene starts with the main character jogging towards a new area. This contains marching military personnel in camouflage gear and the diegetic sounds of gun fire in the background indicating to the audience that this is come kind of military complex. An establishing shot ensues showing what appears to be the main building, and the next part of our protagonists journey. She makes her way throu...

Post-processual archaeology (burial) Term Paper

Post-processual archaeology (burial) - Term Paper Example To find objective information or to conduct research from an objective perspective when it comes to skeleton, it would only be achieved if there were absolutely no information of the skeletons or cadavers excavated. In addition, objectivity is not achieved following the presence or absence of a number of aspects that directly relate to demographics as archeologists first seek information prior to taking action in excavation. This way, they acquire historical facts and demographic information as can be seen in the case of the Nile Valley, where excavation is based on historical information (Larsen 120). This way, the race and typing of demographics, as well as classification of skeletons found denies archeology a chance to be objective. This is due to the bias of already having particulate information on skeletons making sure that the morphological differences are identified and used prior to making new findings, which is hardly ever the case. This is especially in making new findings considering that there is already existent information regarding these skeletons based on their morphology and composition, which include factors of race and other classifications. Objectivity is further influenced by the methods used in examination of skeletons, where the margin of error means a lot in collection of information, which is similar to the earlier mentioned case. As such, there are definite methods used in collection of data such as examination of bones, where based on initial findings, personal bias in a scientist can lead to the entire turning subjective. Evidence of this can be seen in the collection of data regarding osteoarthritis, which has been found in almost every place in the world, where the prevalence is deemed to be influenced by local circumstances. Historical data referring to the prevalence of osteoarthritis points to men being more affected than women, which is a potentially subjective perspective due to lack of information from all areas, despite the mention of it being â€Å"nearly universal† (Wright and Yoder 46). Another factor to put into consideration is the influence of culture and scientific research, as well as science on culture, where the two seem to create a challenge for bio archeology. This is then related to the concept of objectivity looking into how those relate to one another, especially considering that culture and history are central to research interests of bio archeologists. With this in mind, cultural perspectives serve as a central motivator towards the scientific methods and processes used in the formulation of hypotheses relating to archeological finds. As such, research being a scientific process, relies heavily on cultural; and social experiences in the formulation of hypotheses and researchers also look into their own knowledge prior to having archeological research done. This is enough ground to show that culture bears a bearing in scientific findings pertaining bio archeology, especially wit h the use of history and economic activities as has been seen with inclusion of agriculture in research to identify the circumstances surrounding archeological finds (Fleming 188). The Ku Klux Klan in the City 1915-1930 by Kenneth Jackson Essay

The Ku Klux Klan in the City 1915-1930 by Kenneth Jackson - Essay Example The rise of the Ku Klux Klan is urban areas in the 1915 was one of the most astonishing events that occurred in the American history post World War I. Kenneth Jackson, in his work discusses the many aspects regarding the second Klan. Jackson insists that many Americans joined the second Klan genuinely joined with the intention of being a true patriot. However, many Americans were unaware of the extreme prejudices that were hidden. The re-enlightenment of the second era had many different views than its predecessors. Post 1920, the Klan grew a strong membership of 4 to 5 million. Unlike the first Klan movement in the reconstruction era, it extended beyond the traditional motives. The second wave of the Klan continued to focus national agendas at hand that went beyond the agrarian economy. Since the Klan compromised majority of white and Protestant, it was vital that they elaborated on array of social and political issues. The macro focus was on civil issues such as Prohibition, employment, immigration restriction. One might even insist that it was a reformation movement. However, this movement did have many ramifications as it propagated violence and publicly humiliated the status of minorities. The Klan’s supreme strength was unpredictable as it held strong ground in Indiana, Oregon, and Colorado. The Klan played a huge role in politics according to Jackson as it affected the Democratic convention in 19 24. The Klan was fed up from the fact that black workers on the domestic front earned decent wages and were being accepted in this new America. According to Jackson, the Klan made its moral duty to halt this new type of African American growth in society. Jackson reiterates the fact the Klan rose due to many factors. First and foremost was the fact that it possessed great numbers outside the South and half of the followers lived in the cities. The Klan in essence was so engrossed in its own agenda that it embedded prejudice and racism in their ideology. Often times, it crossed the legal boundaries and infringed on basic human rights as killings became common. Secondly, the Klan rose in an era where depression plagued society. The Klan was fed up with not only economic conditions but also due to the fear of the growth of communism. Since the south at that time was majority, the Klan made it their priority to attack that particular region. Jackson argues that the Klan that rose in tho se cities had different agendas, which was to enforce a moral code according to their perspective. Interestingly enough, states such as Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma did not face as much hostility from the Klan as expected. According to many historians, Texas should have the main target for the Klan. However, that was not the case as El Paso was never the home for target violence. Hence, it became common that the appeal of the Klan spread to North and West. The Klan had so much influence that its members served in the congress. The second wave of KKK was much stronger, organized, and confident that the emergence of the first KKK. As mentioned, this organization not only propagated for â€Å"white supremacy,† an intense attachment to anti-Semitic and anti-Catholicism. One of the

Influence on Culture Essay Example for Free

Influence on Culture Essay Surely, not all upper middle class professionals in their late twenties or early thirties shared the same values or ideals. The media, however, used to popularize a certain image of the yuppie with features that became stereotypical and reflected, at least in the journalists’ opinion, the dominant trends in this environment. The yuppie was used to describe not only certain demographic characteristics, but also to denote a psychographic profile including â€Å"a set of behavioural and psychographic attributes that have come to constitute a commonly believed stereotype† (Wikipedia). Thus, yuppie values were supposed to be more conservative than even their parents who were often involved in social programs and idealistic movements of the 1960s and 1970s. Yuppies, on the contrary, were people tended to favour stability and devote more attention to their own problems instead of trying to reform the society. Stability for yuppies was embodied in ownership of material things. In their choice of purchases, they supposedly demonstrated a poor taste buying more expensive stuff in order to show off their wealth. Their lifestyle was heavily impacted by career demands. Career was a necessary prerequisite for sustaining a life of comfort, and its requirements acquired a paramount importance. This resulted in a frequent lack of time that took a heavy toll on their families. Family relationships were often jeopardized by the necessity to move to a different place once in a few years under the influence of the career necessity. The strain in their professional lives often resulted in moral and mental exhaustion, aggravated by the high level of competition in high-income jobs that has been labelled a rat race. Climbing a career ladder in a corporate environment requires a specific set of skills and mentality that were fostered by the yuppies with great persistence. Too often this career-making drive affected their relationships with families and friends. Yuppies were also believed to share â€Å"an entire code of unwritten etiquette can govern their activities from golf and tennis to luncheons at trendy cocktail bars† (Wikipedia). Although the yuppie social group was to some extent invented by the media, the existence of the social and political concept of this group had an undeniable influence on the conceptualisation of social realia by the contemporary society. This perception of social reality was bound to exert influence on cultural life and lead to several talented portrayals of the new groups in artistic works. The artists, unlike the media, often focused on the positive characteristics of the yuppie social group. A typical representative of the class â€Å"had high educational achievement, a high income, enjoyed urban life, had a success orientation, and was a hard worker† (Kawasaki 1994). They were able to achieve affluence in one swoop and therefore did not feel pressured to maintain aristocratic attitudes. As a result, the new generation was less obsessed with gender, racial or regional distinctions. There was even the term â€Å"buppie† – black yuppie. The yuppie generation was portrayed in the works by Jay McInerney, Bret Easton Ellis and Jill Eisenstadt, the most prominent writers of the yuppie era. The biggest success of their literature was the 1984 novel Bright Lights, Big City by McInerney. The novel also features a character seeking refuge from challenging professional environment in Bolivian marching powder† (cocaine) to offset the continuous stress associated with crazy yuppie lifestyle (Nostalgia Central). Bret Easton’s most remarkable work was Less Than Zero (1985) in which he describes New Lost Generation, and Eisenstadt became famous with From Rockaway (1987). Tom Wolfes The Bonfire of the Vanities also depicted the effect of a decadent lifestyle on yuppie culture. This tender portrayal of the newly emerged social group was offset with indignation over lavish yuppie lifestyles, manifested through Die Yuppie Scum bumper stickers. Influence on Fashions Yuppies left a lasting impact on fashions of the 1980s, naturally affecting most the segment for expensive designer apparel. Their dressing style was supposed to demonstrate â€Å"conspicuous wastage† (Tomas 2001). They wore wide shouldered jackets in the day time, and on the weekends they changed to a Barbour for a country look or a ballgown that manifested their comfortable lifestyle.

Essay --

When 19 hijackers took control of four commercial airlines (two Boeings 757 and two Boeings 767) and crashing them into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, some would say they never thought about terrorism. Today when you the word terrorism and immediately we think of al-Qaeda or other Islamic extremists. While Islamic extremism does contribute to certain types of terrorism, there are many other forms as well, all with their own characteristics and challenges for policy makers. These types commonly overlap to describe single terrorist organizations but are useful in providing a way of differentiating what these groups will target and what motivates them. The commonly accepted meaning of the word terrorism is any use of terror in the form of violence or threats meant to coerce an individual, group, or entity to act in a manner in which any person or group could not otherwise lawfully force them to act. There is no true definition of terrorism; the world community has struggled with creating a legal definition of terrorism that is globally accepted. Defining these groups helps us to understand necessary responses to each form of terrorism. Here are three (state, religious, and international) of the several of the most common types of terrorism, and examples of each. Scholar Gus Martin describes state terrorism as terrorism "committed by governments and quasi-governmental agencies and personnel against perceived threats", which can be directed against both domestic and foreign targets (Martin, 2013). State terrorism is the systematic use of terror by a government in order to control its population. Not to be confused with state sponsored terrorism, where states sponsor terrorist groups, state terrorism is entirely carried out ... ...lians had â€Å"been victims of incidents claimed by or attributed to the ANC. There were reports claiming significant links between the ANC and Communist countries, noting that the ANC "receives support from the Soviet bloc, Cuba and a number of African nations in addition to contributions from the West." After the Cold War the State and Defense departments back off their dire characterization of the ANC, it called the group "a politically diverse organization, representing a range of views. Mandela and other ANC officials remained on the terror watch list even as President Bush welcomed Mandela, newly released from prison, to the White House in 1990. Because of what was described as a "bureaucratic snafu," their names were kept on the list until 2008; 14 years after Mandela had been elected president and nine years after he had left power. He was 90 at the time.

Adaptive Physical Education by Steven Symes

Adaptive Physical Education Games By Steven Symes, eHow Contributor Children with disabilities may not be able to participate to the fullest extent in a regular physical education class. Modified activities for children with disabilities can be employed either in a class with children who have no limitations or in a class composed entirely or students with disabilities. 1. Soccer * Soccer fields cover large areas, so decrease the size of the field to reduce the amount of movement required to play the game. If necessary, restrict running so players can participate by walking. Children who use a wheelchair can hold the ball on their laps while they move around the soccer field. Instead of using the traditional soccer ball, use a Nerf ball or other soft material ball to reduce the risk of injury. For children that have visual impairments, use goals that have an element that makes noise when the ball hits it, such as a bell. Basketball * Instead of using the traditional basketball, use different-size balls to make gripping the ball easier. Allow for two-handed dribble so students can maintain control of the ball. An adjustable basketball stand is helpful so the basket can be lowered when the students are first learning how to play the game. Also use larger basketball hoops to make scoring easier. A motion-activated beeper attached to the underside of the basketball hoop will help students with visual impairments know when to shoot the ball. Tennis * Use larger balls that do not fly as quickly through the air to slow down the game play. Remove the center net so students are able to play without constant interruption. Consider using a tee for students to serve the ball from. Allow disabled students to play in pairs with other students who assist in playing the game. For visually impaired students, brightly colored balls help them see the ball. Softball * Instead of traditional softballs and mitts, use balls and mitts with Velcro attached to them. Also use a bat that is larger than the traditional-size bat, making it easier for students to hit the ball. Shrink the size of the diamond so students do not need to run as far to the bases. For students in wheelchairs, use a tee instead of pitching the ball. Consider using balls that have built-in beepers to assist students with visual impairments. * ALEX Resume/CV Parsingwww. hireability. com/ALEX/ale HireAbility is the most accurate & fastest! The federal government mandates adaptive PE activities through the special education law USCA 1402 (25). Modifying typical activities for the atypical child is fairly easy and provides fun and exercise for all children. Basketball * To modify playing the game of basketball depends upon the particular disability. For students with motor skill delays such as hand-eye coordination, larger balls for easier manipulation can be used. Use a larger net size and consider lowering the height of the goal. Change the rules, such as to allow traveling or two-handed dribbling. Slow the pace and timing down. Students who use wheelchairs can either dribble from the chair with peers pushing the wheelchair—or allow them to carrying the ball in their lap as they hand-wheel down the court. Visually impaired students would benefit from an audio prompt such as a beeper ball or audio sound at the basket. Softball * Developmental delays will require you to modify the equipment used for students. Use Velcro balls and mitts to allow better success at catching a ball. Increase or decrease the size of the bats for better accuracy at hitting. Batting tees will increase the chance of making contact with the ball, especially in the early stages of learning the game. Scale back the size of the playing field and the distance between bases. Peer partner students, which increases success but is also beneficial for student awareness and understanding of disabilities. Changes rules such as tag-outs and increase the number of hitting attempts. Everyone-runs Kickball * Running, no matter your skill or speed, is a great cardio-workout. This version of kickball is fun for all students. The kicking team selects one person to kick and everyone on the team runs to the bases. The game can be scored one of two ways, either when the entire team crosses the home base or the traditional way of scoring each run before receiving three outs. The fielding team must get the ball and pass it to each and every team member and finally to the pitcher. Play stops when pitcher has the ball. Students can be peer partnered for running, fielding and pitching. Emily Dickinson Transcendentalism - 757 Words

Emily Dickinson is a poet from the 1800s. In the beginning of her life she was a seemingly normal child. She was considered too curious, and that eventually got her into trouble. After some unfortunate rumors, she decided to leave the world. From then on, Dickinson rarely left her room preferring to speak to people from the other side of her door. Because of her reclusiveness people often considered her as odd. People however, did not know that she is an exceptional poet. She is a philosophical woman, and her poems reflect that. She wrote about things people thought aren’t topics that women should be discussing, such as life, death, love, success, and the impact of society. She doesn’t follow the rules women or poets are supposed to†¦show more content†¦Most people think she only wrote about heavy, sad things, but this poem would make them wrong. In this poem we see her romantic side. She reflects, â€Å"I’ve known her†¦ Chosen one- then closes the valves of her attention- like stone†. Emily is describing what happens when you fall in love. When that special person is found everything around them ceases to exist. It’s just the two of them. Emily Dickinson never just says what she means. She romanticizes it, so you have to think about what it means. The poems can mean something different to everyone. That is what’s great about Dickinson. She leaves room for imagination. In This is My Letter to the World we see her stance on society and individuality. The first line states, â€Å"This is my letter to the world that never wrote to me†. Here she shows us a glimpse into her psyche. She is talking about how society sees her as different and shutout. They see that is wrong. She sees it flipped. Society is the wrong place, and her room is the only thing protecting her from it. Emily shows that individuality is what is keeping us safe. Falling into societal rules is when it gets dangerous. She asks them, â⠂¬Å"Judge me tenderly†. She is pleading for the world to stop looking at the outside, and try to see what she’s telling them in her poems. Emily Dickinson knew that the world needed to hear the bad with the good. She was a transcendentalist writer even when she wrote about things that were not considered happy.
